Here's what you need to know!

What are camp hours?Camp runs from 9 am to 3 pm. Beforecare runs from 8-9 am. Aftercare runs from 3-5 pm (Alta Vista) or 3-5:30 pm (Maker Studio). Please let us know if you have any special pick-up instructions. We are happy to escort students to and from the car! Please note: Late pick-ups after 3:15 PM without notice will have an aftercare fee.

What should I pack for camp?Please bring: - Weather-appropriate clothes. We have snack and lunch outside, and sometimes walk to the nearby park for outdoor activities. - Water bottle. - Lunch and snack. Please only pack nut-free items. If your student is registered for aftercare, please pack extra snacks! - Please label all items with your child’s name to keep track of belongings!

What do you do during the camp day?Great question! Here is our normal daily agenda: Morning (9 AM - 11:30 AM): - Introductions + overview of the day - Big Project #1 (with a snack break around 10 AM) - Small Project Lunch (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM): - Lunch outside on the playground (weather permitting 🌤️) Afternoon (12:30 PM - 3:00 PM): - Big Project #2 - Quick clean-up - Big Project #3 - Small Project - End-of-day clean-up Note: Schedule may shift a bit depending on project sizes. We always aim for 2 - 4 arts and crafts projects daily and at least 1 hour outside for fresh air & fun! 🌻🌈

My student is feeling sick. What should I do?If your kiddo feels unwell (coughing, sneezing, etc.), please keep them home for everyone’s safety. We can move your registration to another camp if needed.

Are masks required?Masking is optional for summer camps.

Is it too late to sign up for camp?It's not too late! We are accepting camp signups all summer long! Please visit our camps site to register for any day of summer camp, up to 24 hours in advance of the day. Please note, we accept drop-in students for all camps EXCEPT for Sew-Cool, which requires a full-week registration.

How do I get to Alta Vista School?Alta Vista School is located at 450 Somerset St, San Francisco, CA 94134. Please enter through the Wayland Avenue entrance. There are several camps running alongside us, and this is our designated entry point.

How can I communicate with teachers, day of?Texting is the easiest way to reach us for any communication regarding late drop-offs, early or late pick-ups, and anything else! Please include your child’s name, site location, and program information. Text us at (415) 855-1073. Please note: Late pick-ups after 3:15 PM without notice will have an aftercare fee.

How do I sign up for extended care at AVS?At this camp location, extended care is run by Alta Vista School staff. Please follow this link to register for before and after care. Beforecare: 8 - 9 am Aftercare: 3 - 5 pm Late pick-ups after 3:15 PM without notice will have an aftercare fee.

What do I need to know for Sew-Cool camp?Sew-Cool camp will be running in a separate room from our main Makerz camp. Sew-Cool students will join up with Makerz campers during snack and lunchtime, as well as during extended hours. If you are registered for Upcycle Academy (7/14-7/18), please bring old clothing, towels, sheets, and other discarded fabric for us to transform into new, exciting items!

How do I sign up for extended care at Maker Studio?To sign up for extended care at our Maker Studio location, please email hello@makerstudiokidz.com. For beforecare, please email at least 24 hours in advance. For aftercare, we accept last-minute signups. Do you love art and playing with kids? Join us this year in the Camp Counselor in Training program! Designed for Upper Middle and High School students, the CIT program will take teenagers who have demonstrated a strong desire to work with children and give them the skills to be successful leaders and teachers.
